Sunday was SOOOOOOOOOOOO boring. It's coming down to the end, and I got there and there was little work for me to do for a few hours. When the guests for my team did arrive, however, I greeted them as they arrived to the office, etc.. brought them to get this one guy's hair done.. brought them to the hotel.. and did other minor errrands (as usual) for the remainder of the day.
Today was slightly less hectic than usual, because both shows were booked by one team (so only one team was really around the studio today). I did the usual, wardrobe, lock-up, taking guests out for smoke breaks, run errands, etc. i got an awesome steve wilkos shirt today(to add to my jerry shirt i also now own). Everyone that works there is SUPER excited to be done with the show, at least for the 2 month vacation they get before the next season starts..
OH and i finally learned where to park on sundays where you do not have to pay for parking.. oh well!
I had VIP tickets for tomorrow's steve show, but i had to cancel them becasue it was in the morning and i can't get anyone to go with me that early :(

Week 780384
I didn't work sunday this week because of a senior project requirement, so instead i'll be working tuesday as usual, and wednesday. Tuesday I was sent on so many errands, that I was barely at the studio all day. At the end of the night, I was stuck cleaning all of the green rooms by myself, and probably most of the interns didn't clean the green rooms ALL day so there were piles and piles of clothes to put back in wardrobe, very annoying! Sucks being the only intern tuesday night. One of the crew members said to me that I did my job very well and that I was one of the one interns he actually trusts when we say the green rooms are clean (and they actually are). That's pretty cool - and he's not the first person that has said this to me. The only problem is I'm not sure I could ever work there. The job is ridiculous - A Producer's Assistant - its a 60-75 hour work week with $10 an hour, 15 overtime. That means no social life, one day off, and when you're not at the studio doing the shows you're BOOKING shows for the rest of the days of the week! Not to mention commuting from long island, paying for the gas and parking! I don't think I'd like that - and i've found out that many of the PA's that i've become friendly with tell me they are going to quit for certain. At least I can put on my resume that I interned at The Jerry Springer Show/Steve Wilkos Show. I may consider interning again just for the experience.

Week of April 19
So this week at work was definitely interesting in a different way..
Sunday I ran non-stop errands, and it also involved a lot of walking. I walked to and from target and the holiday inn SO many times, and at this point I could pretty much draw you a simple map of Stamford, CT since I know my way around so well. I got called into a big bosses office, and I was sent out to get supplies for things they needed to film an episode of the jerry show. From then on, I went back to target like 4 times that day, and for the most part I had to buy the guests bathing suits. They were staying at the hotel and had forgotten to bring theirs, and since the hotel had a pool they wanted to swim - sooo I had to buy them some.
Tuesday was a typical day for taping the Steve show.. I went out on a plethora of errands, from going to starbucks to target and etc. I met some guests today who were under the impression that they could take home clothes from wardrobe. As I was cleaning one of the green room of outfits that were declined, this girl goes, "no don't take that one I was going to keep it!".. HA! you can't keep wardrobe.. you are mistaken.. The funniest thing that happened today is when a producer came up to me right before one of the guests went on stage and said "I need the sweater you're wearing for a guest.. we'll give you the company credit card and you can get yourself a new one if you let me keep the one you're wearing". ... soo I gave them my cardigan, my cardigan that was 2 sizes too small because it was shrunken, and had a hole in it..well of course you can have my shitty cardigan and buy me a new one..
and the rest of the night pretty much ended the same as it always does, cleaning the green rooms and cleaning wardrobe.

back to work
On sunday of this week, i ended up doing a lot of minor officework. Then, for a good majority - i was sent out shopping for wardrobe and other random things for guests (toothbrushes, toothpaste, you name it...) Very rarely now am i sent out to hangout with the guests that fly in.. It seems to me now that most of the guests don't really sleep before they come and do the show - so theyre up ALL night, then fly all morning, then meet with the producers for a few hours before they ever get to check into their hotel room. it's no wonder all they want to do is sit in their rooms and order food, they must be exhausted. going out to eat with guests or just out in general has always been interesting - finding out where theyre from, what they do for a living - it's SO interesting to meet other people from other parts of the country, and comparing their lifestyles to my own...
Tuesday was HECTIC, no surprise there. There were only a few interns there so i had to pick up the slack a little bit. As soon as i got there - GO MAKE SURE ALL THE GUESTS ARE DRESSED !!!!!! ASAP!!!!!!! and then proceeded to dress the guests, and do all the things i need to do to make them happy.
What's interesting about doing show days is that i get to see people before i see their problems (on tv). SO many times unfortunately I had been forced to hangout with guests, whom i found out later were child molestors (at this point, i've met WAY too many child molesters, most of which seem normal otherwise..) and when the lie dector results are read during the taping.. all hell breaks loose backstage! security gets all huffy and guests are supposed to keep far far away from each other - ive seen some guests come out of their green rooms hunting to kill someone from the show! The steve show ruins lives - many people end up breaking up and not leaving together after the show! Sad but i guess if they didnt molest children to begin with.. it wouldnt happen....

Spring Break Hiatus
from about the 3/26-4/10 I was not scheduled to work - Jerry himself is jewish and the show observed his passover traditions - and in addition i requested off the week that I was off, and was given two whole weeks off, not too shabby!
i DO have to go to work tomorrow though!

March 24, 2010
This week i only worked one day - because the jerry show was dark for a few days. On tuesday I was there for studio day. I've come to really enjoy everyone that i work with.. and i'm really excited to be in a TV studio in general. I LOVE telling people i work for Jerry Springer/Steve Wilkos show. I think i may intern again over the summer (not for school credit, just because i love it here). People recognize me by name and a lot of people say I do a great job. I very often go on coffee runs for Rachelle Wilkos (with her credit card) who is the executive producer of both shows (and Steve's wife) to starbucks - the same order every time - caramel apple ciders (no whip cream). I also went on a strange errand to go get phone chargers....... but hey, whatever I gotta do, I gotta do. I'm a little sad that I dont think I would want to work here - I dont know if i'd be able to refuse a job offer from THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW, hellO! but i may have to, its a super super super brutal job...

Week one billion
So this week was pretty typical. it sort of tires me out to write the same exact thigns every single week - I pretty much did everything I was told, and went on of course massive amounts of errands and met lots of 'different' people.. including a stripper from alabama with a goiter in her neck the size of a football.. and she showed me all of her stripping outfits.. other than that.. typical sunday and tuesday. I'm looking into possbily seeing one of the shows on a day off, i'd get the VIP treatment and would get to skip the line. My schedule is so busy though, with interning and my job (babysitting) and school work and my senior project .. i'm not sure i'll get a day off any time soon. Spring break is soon though (woohoo!)
